In partnership with The Qikiqtani Inuit Association and with the assistance of The Government of Nunavut's Department of Culture, Language, Elders and Youth, from June-November 2006, Erin Brubacher screened National Film Board of Canada films depicting Inuit from 1943-2006 in three Baffin communities. Many of the earlier films had never been publicly screened in Nunavut. The hope was not only to make these films known and accessible to Inuit, but also to record community response to what was seen on screen and identify some of the unnamed people who were filmed.
Brubacher made the following portraits in the Iqaluit Elders Centre, October 30th, 2006 during a screening of Eskimo Summer, directed by Laura Boulton for the NFB in 1944.
